Kiki & Juan Blanco 2024 (LITER)

$17.00

Location: Spain, Utiel Requena

Winemaker: John House

Grapes: 90% Macabeo, 10% Sauvignon Blanc

Soil: Clay based with limestone

Winemaking: Hand-picked at night, most of the fruit is destemmed into inox where it soaks overnight. Native co-fermentation in tank. Aged on the lees in tank for 9-10 months

From the Importer La Luz Selections: Kiki and Juan’s Blanco jumps from the glass with Granny Smith apple, Bartlett pear, followed by layers of green fig and chamomile. There’s a noticeable honeydew melon aroma coming through likely due to the Sauv Blanc skin contact. Crisp and dry on the medium bodied palate.

Kiki & Juan are fun, organic wines in 1 Liter bottles that are all about supporting the farmers La Luz works with throughout Iberia.

“Kiki” uses her longstanding relationships with grape growers in Spain to find the organic vineyards that will go into Kiki & Juan.

With his low-intervention winemaking background at OVUM Wines, John House aka “Juan” focuses on making Kiki & Juan a close reflection of it’s vineyards and vintage as possible.

Native fermentation in cement, amphora and stainless steel + nothing added except sulfur - our goal with Kiki & Juan Wines is to make simple, fresh wines from old fashioned techniques.
