Famille Lieubeau ‘Bel Abord’ Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Blanc 2023
Location: France, Loire, Muscadet-Sevré-et-Maine
Winemaker: Vincent Lieubeau
Grapes: Melon de Bourgogne
Soil: Gneiss
Winemaking: 40 year old vines, hand harvest, gentle pressing, fermentation with natural yeasts in tank followed by
6-9 months on lees in underground vats, with regular stirring of lees
About Bel Abord: Lieubeau family are not only making three outstanding cru Muscadets from Goulaine, Clisson, and Château Thébaud, but they also make a single terroir (and single plot) Muscadet from sandy, weathered gneiss. This site faces east and is on a gentle slope bordering the river Maine. This terroir expresses itself with delicate floral aromas and a coiled, salty minerality.
