From the Importer Jeffery Alpert: Located in the small town of Ammerschwihr, in the Vosges foothills and the heart of the Alsace wine region, The Simonis family has been cultivating vines since the 17th century. The winery is run by Etienne Simonis, who took over the family's vineyard from her father René back in 1996. Etienne Simonis has collected 7 hectares of vineyards, which are primarily located at Ammerschwihr, but in addition he also has some vineyards at Bennwihr, Kaysersberg and Sigolsheim. Right from the start, Etienne has been very determined about how he would run the vineyard, so he started by converting production to organic farming, which has subsequently been supplemented with a biodynamic approach, both certified.
