La Combe aux Rêves ‘Bref de Comptoir’ Blanc 2021

$29.00

Location: France, Bugey

Winemaker: Gregoire Perron

Grapes: Chasselas

From us at M&L: Like sucking the nectar out of a dandelion covered in wildflower honey and snow. Alpine-fresh, but with some sensual textures. Serve very cold with alpine cheeses.

From the Importer Avant Garde: In 2010, Gregoire Perron and his partner Judicaëlle settled in Journans, a small village situated at the edge of the Bugey area and near Bourg-en-Bresse. Gregoire trained under various well-known winemakers before starting La Combe Aux Reves “the valley of the dreams”.

Though the vineyards are not located in Jura proper, they are part of the Jura Massif. Gregoire works both with his small handcrafted vines, he owns 2.5ha divided in more than 2 dozens parcels sometimes consisting of just few rows and he purchases some fruits from friends in Arbois and Savoy. His releases are very confidential – he produces a mere amount of 6,000 bottles that are made with no addition, no fining or filtration.

In the vineyards, Gregoire has a huge variety of terroirs and grapes (Mondeuse, Altesse, PN, Poulsard, Chardonnay, Gamay, Geushe Noir, Durif…). The vines are all protected without the use of chemicals, neither mowed nor ploughed.
