Achillée ‘Scherwiller Macéré’ Alsace Blanc 2022

$38.00

Location: France, Alsace

Winemaker: Dietrich Family

Grapes: Riesling

Soil: Sand

Winemaking: Organic and biodynamic farming. Hand harvest. Maceration of 3/4 days as well as a one-year aging in a stainless steel tank.

From the Producer: Nose: Slight reduction at opening, fresh goat cheese. Herbaceous notes of star fruit, physalis, rhubarb, mango, fruit paste then grapefruit zest, lemon, grape, pepper, spices (cinnamon), mint, eucalyptus, mandarin, pear, apricot-peach.

Mouth: Beautiful width, slight oxidative notes on the apple, exotic fruits, candied fruits, tagada/harlequin strawberry. The tannic mass gives the wine width and the acidity offers a beautiful structure. High salinity, slight heat at the end of the mouth.

Food and wine pairing: The fruity notes of this wine make it particularly suitable for sublimating a sweet/savory dish with orange zest and Italian cuisine.
