Domaine de Brousse ‘Tandem’ Rouge 2023

$32.00

Location: France, South West, Gaillac

Winemaker: Amandine, Susanne and Philippe Boissel

Grapes: Duras, Loin de l'Œil

Soil: Bush vines on clay-limestone

Winemaking: Organic farming. Hand harvest. Tandem is the meeting of 2 grape varieties, one red, Duras, and the other white, the far from the eye, Loin de l'Œil. A rather translucent garnet dress. It is a light and fruity wine. The palate is crunchy, silky and greedy on notes of small red fruits. A wine that calls for thirst:)

Unfined wine, unfiltered, low dose of sulfur

From the Producer: It was my great-grandfather, Florian Boissel, who founded the estate in 1921. It was then 3 generations of winemakers who succeeded each other at the Domaine de Brousse.

Indeed, since 1981, my parents, Susanne and Philippe have been working every day to maintain this family heritage that is dear to them, and have constantly developed their profession as a winemaker to create wines with an assertive personality.

It was in 2016, after some professional wanderings in Paris, that I decided to open a new chapter in the history of the domain. The 10-hectare vineyard is located on one of the most beautiful terroirs in the region: the first coasts of the Cordais plateau. Its great richness is its south-facing clay-limestone soil, swept by the Autan wind, as well as a great diversity of fauna and flora, allowing the grape to naturally reach a perfect aromatic maturity.

Amandine, Susanne and Philippe Boissel, artisan winemakers will make you discover authentic and sincere wines. The wines have always been worked simply, without chemical inputs, very few sulfites to allow the terroir to express itself without artifice. Since 2016, the commitment to organic farming has been the natural path towards this quest for purity and respect for our vineyard.
