Clos Thierrière 'Les Pleurs' Vouvray Blanc 2023

Winemaker: Guillaume & Baptiste Frey

Grapes: Chenin Blanc

Soil: Tuffeau, Red Clay, Flint Clay

Winemaking: Organic farming. Hand harvest, native yeast fermentation. Direct press in stainless aged 6 months in tank.

Assemblage of the different terroirs identified on the domain. (Tuffeau / Red Clay / Flint Clay). Vines are 30 years old on average. It takes its name from the vine tears that appear at the end of winter. In fact, it's the first visible sign of the transition from a passive to an active life, like the start of a new cycle.

From the Importer Steven Graf: Twin brothers with a business background fell in love with winemaking during the pandemic under the tutelage of Vincent Carême. They purchased 12 hectares in Vernou-Sur-Brenne amongst a few neighboring natural wine makers and have produced a wonderfully successful first and second vintage of AOC Vouvray.
