Mare Nostrum Vini ‘Siròc’ Blanc 2022

$41.00

Location: France, Roussillon

Winemaker: Athénaïs de Béru, Antoine Isenbrandt

Grapes: 60% Muscat Blanc a Petit Grain, 40% Muscat d’Alexandria

Soil: Ancient riverbed soil

Winemaking: Organic, biodynamic farming. Hand harvest. The Muscat Blanc a Petit Grain is vinified as whole bunches and spends 9 days in contact with the skins, Muscat d’Alexandria is destemmed. Fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeast. The wine is then blended and left to mature for 24months in old oak barriques with the fine lees before bottling.

Siróc: the wind that blows from the deep south, carrying the warmth and sand of the Sahara, along with its exotic aromas. The Siróc touches every shore of the Mediterranean, just like Muscat grapes, which are found all along its coasts — from the Spanish islands to Greece, and even Egypt, where they are often eaten as table grapes.

About the Producers: Mare Nostrum Vini is crafted by visionaries Antoine Isenbrandt and Athénaïs de Béru. Mare Nostrum Vini is a cultural wine project celebrating the Mediterranean through its coastal vineyards, native grape varieties, and shared traditions. They connect winemakers across the region, working organically, and often biodynamically, with historic white grapes shaped by the sea’s influence; salt, wind, sun, and soul.

Each cuvée is named after a wind, blowing where the grapes grow, often in dialect or local language, serving as a geographic anchor for their wines.
