From us at M&L: A couple in both vineyard and cellar, Margaux and Lothar have created their estate with 4 hands, and a rare vision, will and talent! On their 2 hectares, they produce wines that are authentic, full of energy and, in their image, irresistibly joyful.
It was while working with Pierre Fenals at Maison en Belle Lies that Margaux and Lothar met in 2018. These two youngsters are the pride of that old sage winemaker of Saint Aubin. After a few years of helping Pierre produce, frankly, some of the best wines he’s released in recent memory, Margaux decided to settle down. She created the domaine La Chaume Des Lies, and Lothar joined her a year later. They found the perfect location in the small village of Baubigny in the Hautes Côtes de Beaune, where they produce clear eyed wines that buzz with energy and tension.
