Can Majoral ‘Capgiró’ Blanco 2024

$35.00

Location: Spain, Mallorca

Grapes: Giró Blanc, also called Giró Ros, is a white native variety that was about to disappear and has been recovered in recent years.

Winemaking: Organic farming. The clean must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature between 14º and 16ºC. It remains during 6 months on its fine lees and, after gentle clarification and filtration, it is bottled during the early spring.

From the Producers: ‘Capgiró’ It is a wine of golden coloring, with aromatic and elegant medium intensity nose with sensations of exotic fresh fruits like pineapple, mango, with a citrus point and also notes of herbs. Sometime later appear touches of butter and brioche, due to having been on the lees. On the mouth it is fresh and clean with more citrus than on the nose and again the pastry sensations in a robust and unctuous palate. It has a persistent acidity giving the wine vivacity and an interesting and long aftertaste.

We are a small family winery that pushed by the desire and the belief that in Mallorca and, more specifically in Algaida, quality wines could be made, we started this project, an adventure and an illusion. We could not tell you if it was to experiment, as a hobby or to pass the time, but the truth is that we started to plant and, slowly, this project has been growing in all aspects without ever losing sight of the main objective: to grow, produce and market unique wines, quality and organic farming.

Andreu Oliver Oliver (Majoral) was the promoter of this adventure, in 1979 he planted the first vineyard and during the decade of the eighties he was experimenting in a homemade way together with his brothers. One of the main values of the winery are the people who are part of it and that we organize ourselves to develop the different tasks in the vineyard, the winery and marketing. At the moment we put the hands two family generations: Andreu Oliver Oliver of main vinyòvol, Mireia Oliver Mulet of enologist and coordinator, Andreu Oliver Tril of enologist, Joana Maria Llompart Oliver controlling the dobleros and the rest of family that helps in order that the project of Can Majoral continues forward.
